Twin City Days 2012

Club members demonstrated turning in front of the Library during Twin City Days.  Members also donated turned items and sold them in the library parking lot to benefit a local food pantry.

The sales of donated items resulted in a $704 donation that was presented to the food pantry.

Sept 13, 2012 Meeting Notes

There are no official minutes from the meeting because the secretary lost the notes.  What you see here is my best recollection of what happened.

About 30 people attended and there were a couple guests present.

Old business

  • Twin City Days:  Bowl sales and demo’ing were a great success!  The club raised nearly $700 for the food pantry.
  • Joe got a projector donated from Ursuline Academy and it worked great during the meeting.  There was discussion of making something for the teachers to thank them for the donation.
  • For the Birdhouse project, we’re set to go to Marymount Manor in Eureka.  Sheets were passed around to get volunteers to make birdhouses.
  • Turning day is Oct 20 at Paul Krautmann’s farm.  Planned activities are Bowl Turning, Pen Turning, Birdhouse Turning, CA Finish, Buffing, Coring (maybe?) and freehand sharpening.
