Old business

  • Turning Day at Paul’s
  • Girl Scout Days Demo
  • Craig has a check for Quad City Development with money raised at sales
  • Twin City Days money to be split between two food pantries
  • Woodlands selected as recipeient home for Birdhouses on January 13th at 2:30pm

New business

  • Belleville Woodcarver’s show in Nov 2 & 3
  • Fall Turning Day is Nov 9
  • Cards available for Pens for Troops
  • Club lathe has been repaired with a new capacitor
  • Craig brough prices and sign-up sheets for clothing with club logos
  • No new officer nominations
  • Craig will be applying for a grant for A/V equipment for demonstrations

President’s Challenge

The President’s challenge was a tool handle, the winner was Gib.

Announcements

 

  • Habitat for Humanity is holding its second annual Lobsterfest
  • Woodcarver’s Club meets the first Wednesday of the month at Windsor Library
  • Endgrain sealer is on sale for $10 a gallon

 

Old business

  • Twin city days, sold 23 tops, total sales $444. and change, money to be donated to Ozark food pantry and Methodist Church
  • Money from Firecracker days donated to quad city community development corporation
  • Band building floor, probably spent ~$200, Home Depot added $200 plus free equipment rental
  • Paul motioned that both floor finishers be paid $200 for donating their time, Bruce seconded, motion passed

New business

  • Glen motioned that club officers’ AAW membership fees be paid by the club, seconded by Gary, motion passed
  • Shirt pictures coming
  • Pens for troops pen kits available, 12 remaining.
  • Turning day at Paul’s is Sept 21st, pen turning will be demonstrated.
  • Next band building turning day is November 9
  • Takedown for current display is September 29th, Next display at Windsor is October 1
  • 150 birdhouses are needed by the December meeting for the birdhouse giveaway, Terry has birds
  • Belleville woodcarver show is in November
