Notes from last month’s meeting:
We had 46 members and 4 guests 3 new members signed up.
We collected all the bird houses for the bird house project. I would like to thank everyone that helped out withthat. Bryanna Alexander, Gary Gronborg, Jim Anderson, Terry Eiler, Jim Leftridge and Craig Schmidt distributed 90 birdhouses to the residents and staff. They loved them. We actually brought back 60 extra birdhouses, so we have a head start on next year. Mike short did a wonderful demo on multi-axis scoop.
MEETING THIS MONTH
This Thursday is our monthly meeting. The president’s challenge is a multi-axis scoop that Mike Short demoed. I would like to thank mike for doing a wonderful job doing the demo and for Craig for getting it on
YouTube. For those that did not see it here is the link to the video https://youtu.be/Dy2jww9BtFc
This month’s demo will be a rolling pins French style and traditional.
I do not have any more demo set up yet for the rest of the year and I am asking for members step up and help out. If you can do a demo please let me know. If you would like to see something demoed let me know that, too.
WOODWORKERS SHOW
Also next weekend is the Woodworking show at the Collinsville convention center. We are going to have a booth at the show. We have been asked by the woodworking show it’s self if we could do an interactive pen turning with attendees. So we are joining up with the St. Louis wood turners to do that. Both clubs will be sharing a large 10 X 40 booth we will be at one end they will be at the other and do the pen turning in the middle. I got a few responses back that said they would help someone turn a pen. So we are going to try and make it work. as of right now we are going to do this Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday this may change just depends on if we have people that are willing to help out. And how fast I can get the blanks ready. I am going to try and pick the blanks up Thursday afternoon. If you are going to be working at the show please bring in some of your work to set up on the table’s we are going to have a big area to fill up so let’s show them what we can do.
